Whooo hoo! So I have completed my Christmas shopping! Really?! I have to though, because this is my busiest time of year for work I'm too tired to jostle along with tons of people in a crowded shopping centre. If I go shopping at all in December it has to be when I don't need anything and can enjoy wandering among the lights and atmosphere! So the decorations go up this weekend and the few Christmas cards will be written. I say few because we have been struggling with deciding whether to send or not this year? I wonder how much longer the Christmas card will really last. Carefully chosen this year is a list of people and family we don't get chance to see much or have contact with on Facebook (Yep sorry Facebook friends but you will be getting a very Social 'Merry Christmas' this year!) So it's approaching November very quickly! I am currently buried under sculpture commissions at the same time as introducing a few christmassy items to my range. Thought I'd take the opportunity to offer a couple of gift ideas to get you thinking and some cute decorations for your tree! Specially made for a customer, these two signs are winging their way to Canada! Fans of the Winnipeg Jets they have been custom made so each owners dog is wearing their fan jersey and complimented with paw prints and a bite mark! I have now have this option available on the website and in my Etsy shop, so think of Christmas and perhaps your mutt can be wearing your favourite football shirt :-) The signs are made from frost proof stoneware and painted with all weather enamels, so suitable for outdoor usage.

I was recently asked to do a portrait of my neighbours West Highland Terrier and here's the result...meet Ollie! I don't normally do pet portraits as I find it hard when I don't know their personality, but seeing Watson and him are best buds I know him very well and what a cutie he is! x

It's far too hot to be kiln firing up to 1300 degrees but needs must! Really busy at the moment (not complaining!) Especially with my ceramics which is wonderful. I have loads more updated on the website including Billy Goats Gruff, Forty Winks and Lion & the Mouse sculptures pictured below. All inspired from children's stories and fairytales which I use to love as a child. I'm enjoying these and plan to do quite a few more in the coming months. especially after purchasing a 1979 hard copy of Aesop's Fables with some beautiful illustrations. Other works in progress are also under way for 'birdbath' and a new elephant vase, plus a cute dragon which I will keep updated for you in my next posts! Hope you're enjoying the weather!
