Still Here!

Phew, it's been hectic the last few months and not just with the business! We've had leaky water pumps and all sorts to deal with on the boat, not to mention the car flashing engine lights at us. Still, all should be done now, fingers crossed! Ok, so my kiln for ceramics is now fully functional and I've been locked in my studio covered in clay for quite some time to bring out new designs and heading in new directions. I've now found my favourite clay to work with after many hands in different textures and the winner is Scarva Stoneware. It gives a lovely earthy buff finish to my work which for some features works great on it's own without the need for glazing or acrylics. In fact I've enjoyed it so much that I'm struggling to use up the last of my grey clay which is not such a great texture to work with. But, needs must and none shall be wasted! Keyrings galore!

The new collection is now available on the website with free postage on all keyrings! Phew! I have around 30 designs all on solid sycamore wood. Keyrings Here's sneaky peek at some designs. I sketch on the wood in pencil, then burn the design in and finish with acrylic paints and clear wood varnish to give them some sparkle!

Events update!

Phew it's been a while but I have been organising my event diary for the rest of the year. Local craft fairs and county shows I will be appearing at are listed on this page for your info. Come and visit! All in the areas of Nottingham Derby & Leicester. Orders can be taken from these fairs for personalised items and of course art commissions. I'm also working on keyrings which make superb little gifts and keepsakes - Piccies will follow shortly! It's keeping me busy 30 designs to do! Plus lots more stock for the craft fairs so loads more ideas to come. Right better get back to the wood burning...

New Clocks Collection added!!! These beautifully handmade solid sycamore clocks come in a 'mantle' and 'wall' clock design. Each individual piece has been burnt into the wood, hand painted with acrylics and gloss varnished to finish. To see the full range just visit Blue Fish Studios . Hi and welcome to my blog at Blue Fish Studios! So I'm completely new to all this and will start by telling you a little about myself. My name is Lucy and I am the creator of www.bluefishstudios.co.uk . I create and design personalised gifts, bespoke art, ceramics and commissioned paintings. It's a new business and I'm currently running along side my job but in the long run it's my main aim just to have the website.
